Final boss or the secret super boss? There's a surprising amount of stuff to do once you complete all 8 stories and jump into the final portion of the game, much more than I thought
Vide the one after all the extra stories which I’ve done up to him, I probably just need to make sure everyone is north of 60
Throne chapter 3 boss was the first one that was a challenge. Mostly because I used Bewildering Grace at the start of the turn and poisoned my entire party for 9 turns lol.
I have not once, in this or the first game, ever gotten the exp bonus with Bewildering Grace. I always get self damaging effects lol
Beat the final boss over the weekend by meticulously following a guide. It required obtaining a couple Learned Skills for Hikari in some pretty hard one on one duels, but it made all the difference. The path to the super boss is now open, and I guess I'm working towards that but I've already seen the credits roll. Even if I don't go for it, this was 65 hours well spent. What a fantastic game.
What level was everyone when you took down the boss? Osvald is 69, a couple others are 60ish and everyone else is 54-55 and I didn’t even get close on my one attempt lol
Throne is my main and she was 73 I think. Everyone else was high 60s, 68-69. Phase 1 was basically buffing the hell out of Temenos and using his fully boosted DX skill to blast the shit out of the boss. Phase 2 is much trickier, because your secondary team starts the battle but you can rotate out the 1st team members at will and requires some tricky timing.
Yeah I’ve got a bit of grinding left to do, should’ve looked up what level I would need to be before starting the quests because now I can’t change the time of day and recruit people with path actions lol. Gonna knock out the tiered tower and get conjurer next then I’ll have all the secret jobs
Yeah I learned this the hard way. I left a save file just before I started the whole endgame story just in case and I had to go back and restart from there after relighting all 4 flames. Didn't take very long but was annoying.
What's the consensus on best method for playing through chapters? I know this one is a bit different b/c I can already tell levels vary decently wide on II vs how it was on the first game. My thought was to play through everyone's chapter one, then start going through the other chapters based on levels. Anyone got a better suggestion? I'm way behind all of you on this game, obviously, haha. Although I intentionally held off on a it for a while.
I'm basically doing everyone's chapter 1s, then 2s, 3s, 4s. And I'll do them in order of lowest level first. The only exception I've made so far is that I've mostly done the chapter 3s before doing one of Ochette's chapter 2s because it's like level 37.
I basically did what @loudasallgetout did. Everyone's chapter 1, then 2 etc. Also doing lowest levels first. Some of the really low level ones (there are a few that are like level 9) you'll be massively overleveled. There should be a pretty natural progression.
I really struggled with Bandelam the first two times, but then it just clicked for me on the 3rd go and I wrecked him.
once you get wrecked and then come back with a better strategy and blow their defenses wide open it feels so good
Keep track of Bandelam, once you finish Hikari's story you can steal the best sword in the game from him
