Just got back from a double bill of this and Passenger, fair to say this was the winner of the night by a wide margin. Love to see a great film far exceed expectations at the box office as well, made about eighty times its budget so far.
the spirit possessing Nikki is specifically Bear’s dead cat Sandy. Cats love their owners, watch you in the corner of the room, are ambush predators, and the “not me” in the sandwich maybe from trapped Nikki telling Bear who is in her body it’s interesting, lines up in some fun ways but probably isn’t what the writer had in mind, at least I don’t think so

I haven't stopped thinking about this since I saw it last weekend. One of my favorites in a long while. Oddly, though, a close friend of mine who usually lines up pretty well in terms of horror tastes absolutely loathed it. In our 20+ years of friendship, I don't think we've ever been this far apart on a movie.
I thought this was fantastic. Most tense I’ve been watching a horror movie since Hereditary. Really exceptionally done imo
