Just home from the cinema and yeah Obsession was fucking brilliant and holy shit that's one hell of a breakout role by Inde Navarrette, she was good in Superman and Lois but all the praise in this is definitely gonna get her a lot more acting work, truly an incredible performance!
I hate when the nfl thread gets crossposted because i accidentally end up in it without realizing until I’m like “why is everything suddenly so insufferable” and double check the thread edit: not deleting this because that’d feel lame after it’s been sitting here for hours but yes I know this was a huge miss of a post and I promise I have nothing against the nfl thread or the people in it (which I’d hope they already know?). I was trying to be funny and ended up just being an asshole, and I genuinely feel bad about it lol
Sorry, I posted that and almost deleted because it felt weirdly mean. I was joking. But I did end up in the NFL thread by clicking the above quote and while I was reading Obsession opinions I was very confused that the thread had suddenly gotten so active and wondered why it felt so all over the place before I realized, lol
this was alternately highly upsetting and fun, pretty strange to be this curious about what a youtuber does in the future
Pretty good. Agreed that it was starting to lose me in the end. Some underbaked ideas. Really well directed and gnarly though. Will check out what Curry Barker does next
I liked this. Funnier than I thought it would be. I wish they dove more into the person controlling her body
Just got back from seeing this. Great performance by Inde. The musical score was great. Creative cinematography….but I did not enjoy watching this at all. There are certain films that after I watch them it just makes me feel down the rest of the day. This was one of them. It’s way too pessimistic and dark for my liking. Well made film, and I understand why others like it, but I was ready for it to end after Sarah was killed. I need to watch a comedy or videos of people adopting pets to cleanse my mind
Not sure if I’m on board with the decision at the end for Bear to kill himself Maybe a more interesting ending could have been a timeskip showing them stuck together years later in this insane situation but idk maybe im an idiot
He was a coward all the way up to the end and left Nikki with the mess he made after sending her to hell(?) for a couple months. Pretty solid feel bad movie.
Oh that’s a better reading of it. I might have not been in a great headspace to watch this and judged it more harshly
Weird audience for this one. There were a few pretty good laughs in here (as expected) but you would think they were watching a full on 21 Jump Street style romp for most of the movie. Her sobbing in the dark corner about her dreams was like a huge punchline? Lot of gasps then at the cat sandwich which seemed very obvious? Y’all thought the demon girl was doing pastrami on rye or what? Jackass trailer ran before the movie and a guy next to me turns to his friend and goes “is that like… a famous franchise?” and his friend goes “I… guess? But it’s like, why? Who needs that” Anyway I liked this good movie but damn that whole experience felt like a different dimension
