This really clicked for me today. Just needed to play it louder i think. Halogen Eye floored me this time, wasnt too into it the first few listens

 

I love the eerie Radiohead vibes on this

So is their name officially changed? The download from bandcamp is in my itunes as OBROTHER and everything else is O'Brother.

 

Nah I don't think it is. Their new tracks on itunes etc still say O'brother. Could just be a weird glitch with bandcamp.

 

i’m assuming it has more to do with how their files are saved/uploaded than a branding change.

edit: or maybe not? they’ve had merch in this style since Endless Light, as as using the all caps | spacing

 

Andy Hull definitely sings on Halogen Eye, right?

 

It’s the dude from Biffy Clyro, unless you’re referring to a different section

 

Towards the end I swear I hear Hull harmonizing, after the Biffy Clyro part but it could still be the dude from Biffy Clyro

 

I’ll have to listen more closely then. Andy could be on it. I know he has an obvious feature on Sputnik from Garden Window, but he adds harmonies to a few other songs from that album too so it’s possible he did the same here.

 

He tweeted that he’s featured on “like 30” O’Bro songs since 2008 so I imagine he adds harmonies in a lot of places we might not pick up on.

 

Picking up on some Moon Shaped Pool vibes in a lot of these songs now

 

You know when you get little parts of a song stuck in your head and it's just playing over and over and over and it's even there when you're trying to sleep? That's happening to me right now with the "oohhhhhhhhhhOOOOOOHHHHHs" at the end of Locust. I literally woke up with a headache.

 

Andy has backing vocals on more than one song on here.

Now that this has hit streaming services I might not ever stop listening to it. Also they recommended on twitter that you listen to it on loop to get the full experience so how can I say no.

 

Is this up on Apple Music for anyone? I’m not seeing it.

I listened to a lot on bandcamp last week, I just prefer Spotify for daily listening.

 

I really like the album. My fav since Garden Window. Too early to say if this will top that, but it’s excellent.

 

Yea if you have streaming available, even if you bought it on bandcamp, I'd suggest streaming the album instead as the band will get a kickback from that
