They commented on their previous post about remastering/remixing/retracking Garden Window so maybe something to do with that? Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something new though given how long they sat on You and I before they could release it. Excited for whatever it is!
Revisiting their catalog yesterday and today and would really love some new stuff or news of new stuff or anything really.
I still don't like Disillusion - but I think that's more of a personal thing about the circumstances when I first listened to that album - but everything else they've done is top notch.
Would need to do a runthrough since it's been awhile since i've listened to some of their stuff (and i've never listened to Death of Day) but off the cuff i'd rank em like: Garden Window Endless Light Disillusion You and I I don't remember disliking You and I at all, but it just did not have the staying power that their other records did, for me at least.
You need to listen to The Death of Day. Ascension and Providence are two of their best songs. Garden Window Endless Light The Death of Day / Disillusion You and I
Revisiting Endless Light while I was mowing the lawn yesterday and almost bucked myself off during I am (Become Death)
I love Garden Window and You & I. I’ve listened to Disillusion and Endless Light one time each and they didn’t do it for me at the time so I didn’t listen to them again. Are they worth revisiting?
Endless Light - absolutely. That one hooked me early and it has some straight up bangers. Disillusion is much more of a grower imo but when it clicks for some folks, it really clicks. The second half is chock full of long winding jams with a lot of atmosphere and heaviness.
I think they are both worth revisiting, but I'll shout out Endless Light specifically. While I don't love it as much as a full album as I do Garden Window, I think Endless Light has some of their best standalone songs and it still works very well as a full album.
Have not listened to Disillusion in a few years probably but I'm ripping it right now at the gym. Was a good choice. Weren't they forced to put out this album really quickly after signing to a record label shortly after Garden Window?
