felt the same with Horatio Sanz in Mando. i dont mind cameos including goofy ones. sure it might be better without it whatev. similarly, holy hell Flea is a bad actor haha
Yeah, I didn't really mind the Kumail cameo much at all, but it did totally break the immersion. Flea is a pretty terrible actor, but he didn't take me out of the show for whatever reason. Could be that I haven't really seen Flea in at least like 15 years, whereas it kinda feels like Kumail is everywhere right now. Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan is just perfection. I just love watching him play this character on screen.
i don't think her performance is bad but the writing for her is the worst part of the show so far, which i like to be clear
The only thing that’s bothered me so far is that slow motion chase scene, otherwise her dialogue is pretty on point and believable for the character.
there is nothing believable about a nine year old talking like that, i don’t care if it’s leia lol not that i want them to be talking about cartoons or whatever lol. it just is the only part of the show taking me out. the speech to the cousin was awful.
Young Leia is doing a good job but yes the dialogue is weirdly written for her. Also she runs slow and it bothers me every time.
do we think the rest of this series is gonna be the adventures of obi wan and young leia or does he drop her back off on alderaan next episode and high tail it back to tatooine
I think she’s along for the ride, but were getting Hayden in the mix at least going forward. Also completely forgot episode 3 drops tomorrow.
They're definitely going to have Vader encounter Young Leia even though that doesn't make sense and the stans will say "B-b-b-but actually what he says in Return of the Jedi is just vague enough that it could go either way!"
I do think one of the major Disney era issues is they’re trying to milk too much from the established timeline, which inevitably causes contradictions, bending previous dialogue to fit the current narrative, etc. Either move way before the prequels, or move after the sequels.
at this point im dropping all pretense of retcons and whatever else and just trying to enjoy the best i can. if its pretty good its pretty good. this IP has been through alot lol
It's never really hit for me, personally, ever since they were first introduced. Also they're another thing that doesn't make sense why they weren't around/talked about in the OT.
I don’t know anything about the inquisitors beyond this show but it’s weird that there’s lightsaber folk boppin around and the plebs seem to know who they are, but then 10 years later it’s all presented like ancient history
This has been a problem ever since the prequels, honestly. They treat the era of the Jedi and the Republic like it was so long ago, and yet it's only been like 19 years since the formation of the Empire. There are countless billions of beings still alive who lived through the Clone Wars and the downfall of the Jedi.
