As a modrate star wars fan, im really enjoying this. Great pacing, set design, effects, writing etc. Its hooked me in right away. Can someone answer tho how lord vader meant anything to obi? How he is aware of that connection at this point or are we all meant to be wondering that?
Not trying to be a dick just gauging what info you need…did you watch the recap of the prequel movies at the beginning of the first episode?
Honestly, I may be wrong, but I’m fairly certain Sheev calls him Vader in the holo recording Kenobi and Yoda watch of him killing the younglings at the temple.
This was fine. If anything, it’s beginning to undo the intense hatred I had for the prequels. I think there’s a lot of very fun and interesting stories to be told here.
Yes and Obi thought Anakin was dead and then the he wasnt and when he was saved they said said lets call you darth vader. So the name vader, was after Obi and Anakin parted ways? So how does Obi at this point know that lord vader is anakin? EDIT: i believe someone answered.
He is named Vader immediately after he kills Mace and pledged his allegiance to Sheev well before his fight with Kenobi. As I said above, I believe he hears him called Vader in a holo recording.
She does. But since Vaders identity is not as secretive as the canon books seem to indicate, if she knows he’s Anakin and knows of their bond, saying that name instead of only Vader does more to wound and agitate Kenobi.
I’m assuming Reva is one of the young Jedi seen in the opening scene, and amidst Order 66 she was able to see that Anakin is Vader. I don’t necessarily think it means it’s not a “secret” anymore, she’s just someone privy to the information and uses it against Obi-Wan.
I mean, it could still be a secret amongst the inquisitors. Reva being in that opening scene would be good, because so far showing us that scene was kind of pointless and kind of bad timing given recent real world events. At least Stranger Things that has an oddly similar type opening scene has been a running aspect of the season and had a warning card before hand. I’m not saying this show should have had one as it’s more fantastical than ST, but wouldn’t have been a bad call to do so.
Yeah there was clearly a little black girl jedi in the opening scene. I don’t see much point of having that scene if it’s not her.
So timeline wise this takes place exactly concurrent to season 1 of Rebels and 5 years after the events of Fallen Order? Still waiting for Cameron Monaghan to show up in one of these shows.
Rebels start roughly 3 years after this. But I do think it’s 5 years after Fallen Order because I guess today they announced the sequel takes place 5 years later and people are like, “so around the time of Obiwan, huh? Hmmmmm”
Oh ok I haven't seen Rebels in awhile and i thought i remembered the premiere episode taking place on the 10th anniversary of the Empire taking over, i guess it was the 13th.
That was a great start to the series. I wasn’t expecting young Liea to be front and center. when Obi Wan heard that Anikan is still alive, killed me.
I don’t think the first episode is an ani dreary date. But towards the end of the season is Empire Day and I think that marks the beginning of the Empire. I don’t recall if they mention the number of years or not.
People wondering if Leia will use the force.. I guess I assume her subtle way of using it was they way she got back at her cousin in part 1. Reading his thoughts without realizing it.
