i said last night to a friend i think this honestly is the most anticipation i've had for new SW since the force awakens.

 

Liked the episodes, didn’t love them.

Going to do the watch list the Disney UK Twitter account posted before starting this show i think

 

it was pretty much everything i wanted. Incredible and the most fun i've had with Star Wars in a very long time

 

Man that was so fun. This makes me want to go play Battlefront II or something.

 

I’m blown away by this. Was not expecting a lot and my expectations have been exceeded. I cannot wait to see where this goes.

 

I was... whelmed by this. some really goofy stuff I could've lived without. I also intensely never need to see Tattooine again ever

 

I would guess we see it at the end of this show. But beyond that, yea, that’s enough.

 

I dug the first episode, looking forward to the second.

 

they could not have engineered an "Obi-wan in hiding" show to be less what I wanted than they did with this show lol

Also the opening scene was better when it was in Inglourious Basterds

 

That's because you wanted a contemplative thinkpiece about daily life in a cave.

so star wars is just Muppet Babies going forward?

 

I mean, 10 year olds aren’t babies. I get what you mean, of course. But a 10 year old human is a different dynamic than a 50 year old baby Yoda with force powers that can’t talk verbally. Granted, Leia does have force powers, but we don’t know if they have started to develop yet in any real way.

Did you have this thought when the marketing made it seem Luke would be a bigger part of the show? Or only when you’ve seen that it’s Leia who is playing the bigger role? I honestly don’t mean to imply anything by that question. Just genuinely curious when your thought came to you.

 

it came to while watching, i honestly never assumed Luke would have a role.

 

I thought she was gonna be the one to stop herself from falling, not Obi.

 

Fair enough. I think the dynamic is different enough to not see it as an issue or a thing that’ll happen in everything moving forward. Giving us some context as to why Leia seems to trust Obiwan in A New Hope isn’t a bad thing. I don’t see there being a “baby” character in Andor or Ahsoka. But I could be wrong.

 

I mean, they could have done that. But since the Leia we see in the OT has no idea she has the force until Luke tells her in Jedi, if we do see her use it, it should be something subtle that could be explained easily another way. As long as they are following established canon.

But seeing as the show already seems to be changing things, like seemingly killing the Grand Inquisitor and making Anakin being Vader not a secret as it is played as in the books that are supposed to be canon, maybe they will do something like that and somehow explain it away or just don’t bother to explain.

 

This is how bullying starts with these young actors. Stop it right now.

 

I really greatly enjoyed those first two episodes.
