I’ve always kind of fancied myself as a bigger fan of Noel but I love Liam’s solo stuff. I have been spinning Why Me? Why Not so much lately.

 

And... i have been listening to a ton of Oasis lately too in an attempt to try and do a Top 30 list....

Went back and listened to Heathen and yeah - it’s definitely lower tier Oasis.

 

Heathen Chemistry is pretty bad but I have a soft spot for "Little by Little". Noel sounds fucking massive on that chorus

 

Noel > Liam any day.

I like "Songbird" and "Little by Little" from that list ha. haven't listened to that album in yearrrs though

"Just Getting Older" from the b-sides is an absolutely gorgeous tune as well

 

noel is definitely the king during oasis and, honestly, his first solo album is pretty incredible

but the two solo liam albums are much, much, much better than noel's last album and string of EPs. which are, uhh, pretty yeesh.

 

High Flying Bird is the only Noel solo album I listened to but I loved it. Got to see him on his tour supporting it and he pulled out a bunch of Oasis.

Agree that Noel's first solo album is amazing. I'd rank it above every Oasis album after Be Here Now.

The recent EPs he's been putting out have been unlistenable for me. But I did think that Chasing Yesterday and Who Built The Moon had some amazing songs, specifically Dead In The Water and Riverman.

 

Alone on a Rope too, which personally one of my favorite High Flying Bird songs.

Weird thing was it was released as a b-side for the first album but only in America, and then 6 years later they released it again as a b-side for the latest album.

 

"You Know We Can't Go Back" is a banger too

but yeah the first High Flying Birds album is one of my favourite things he's ever done

 

I still think Freaky Teeth would’ve made a great Bond theme had they chosen it.
