Everyone I talked to irl about going to the UK possibly(before tickets sold out) all said they didn’t realize how big they actually were.
right! Like in the US in my recent memory the artists who did stadiums are Beyonce, Taylor, Coldplay, even RHCP….never realized Oasis was at that level of a draw
Imagine they played club shows in the US along with their stadium shows. I am imagining such a scenario.
Almost 100% chance it's a local all-star cover band. Maybe Michael Shannon's REM band doing an Oasis set?
It says definitely not Oasis. So I really don't think their first show back is going to be at a club in Chicago.
It’s gonna be a very tough ticket but it is funny to think that they played sheds in like 2008 or 9 and I feel like I remember no one giving a shit (figuratively speaking)
when i saw them in chicago that last tour they played a 20k venue. not exactly a shed haha. and that was them at their lowest haha.
maybe this isn’t the case everywhere but the live nation shed by me holds 24k people, way more than our local NHL arena.
Xfinity aka great woods also holds 20k, that’s huge obv but that’s less than 1/3 the cap of gillette. Obv I get a reunion tour is gonna have an inherent hype that touring a solid late career album won’t, but I gotta think some of these football stadiums are gonna get 2 shows, so 130k tix vs 20k, just wild. also I consider anywhere outside w stadium seating and a lawn at the top a shed, mayb I’m using it wrong
But also keep in mind during that tour in 2008 they hit pretty much every major city. Those leaked dates say only 5 US cities. So they're probably banking on a lot of people traveling around the country for these. I just checked their 2008 tour dates. Looks like cities they hit on that (at arenas) that they are skipping this reunion tour are: Seattle, Las Vegas, Denver, Minneapolis, Detroit, Philly, Washington DC, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, Edmonton and Winnipeg.
