I recently listened to both Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants and Heathen Chemistry recently. They are both better than I remembered! Main complaint is that the backlash to Be Here Now seemed to trap them into this mid-tempo non-swagger mode which is not how I like my Oasis.
Those post Be Here Now albums all have some good songs, they are just fewer and farther between then previously Some great B-Sides in those eras too
I haven’t listened to any of the post-BHN records in probably a decade. I don’t remember anything about Heathen Chemistry, but Giants, Don’t Believe the Truth, and Dig Out Your Soul all have a ton of great tracks.
Don’t Believe… and Dig Out… are awesome albums, probably my favourites after their first two releases. Really hyped with this possible reunion, the last Noel single had some cool Oasis vibes.
I still thoroughly enjoy it though the first time I saw Oasis was on this tour so I probably willed myself into liking it.
Noel's solo stuff bores the shit out of me for the most part, but goddammit if I don't get excited for him to pop out of his hole and spit a few blow darts whenever he has something new coming out.
i agree with the recent EPs and last full length but the first two full lengths are great, the first of which is better than several oasis albums. this new one potentially sounds like a return to form for sure.
That album with Liam vocals would have been an incredible Oasis album. Maybe someone with AI knowledge can make it happen. EDIT: well it looks like it already happened: I’ll check it out tomorrow
