Saw Hoobastank last night (for the first time), someone yelled out "Basketball shorts" and the singer acknowledged it and said that they probably don't remember how to play these songs anymore... They were pretty good
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's IVAN MOODY: 'I Have Certain Political Songs, But I Try To Be Very Vague And Open About It' I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this or where I even would, so I settled on here because it surprised me to see such an open-minded statement from Ivan Moody of all people. Ivan is problematic in his own way, not least of which because they're touring with Manson, but at least I thought he'd be all the way right wing and this at least reads like someone who is more socially conscious than I'd expect.
I only met Ivan Moody once a few years ago and he really surprised me how much of a genuinely nice guy he was to me and we chatted for ages like two normal regular people so he's definitely more open minded than the onstage, larger than life persona that he puts on when he performes plus the guy has been clean and sober for a few years and turned his life around for the better and he might once was problematic for many many reasons and rightly called out for but he has changed a considerable amount but the Manson support slot... yeah that's probably the rest of the band and management decision than an Ivan Moody one.
Mm, to be clear, I don't want to sound like I'm going to bat for Ivan Moody. Guy had abuse allegations back in 2015 that are admittedly a little confusing because it was reported the other party was his wife filing for divorce and the counter was that Ivan wasn't married, a counter that tellingly does not actually dispute the incident itself. Anyway, it's more about it just being interesting that the person you'd most expect to say something problematic said something relatively sensible. I guess I probably should think about that dril tweet and how, in regards to the musician Ivan Moody, I absolutely do not have to hand it to them. Nevertheless.
Not nu-metal but I really have no other place to put this and I'm pretty stoked. The Surface Seems So Far on September 20th. 1. Judas Mind 2. Illusion 3. Beneath The Veil 4. Semblance Of Me 5. Walls Come Down 6. Try To Heal 7. Paint The World 8. Same Mistakes 9. Lost All Control 10. Dead On The Vine 11. Regret
I'll always have a soft spot for them due to how much I loved their albums up until Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces. I didn't have any hopes but, surprisingly, this reminds me of Karma and Effect a lot, stylically and even sonically ("World Falls Away" in particular).
I like all their albums but the last two had bad production and I'm hoping this one rights that ship.
Finger Eleven has a new single dropping next week and Ra the week after that, and I really hope both are precursors to new albums.
