Never got on the Red train. Felt like they were just sort of there. Plus, the whole Christian thing turned me away. Might check out the new album.

 

They really aren't overt about their Christianity. There's no outright references to anything religious, so you can take their lyrics however you want to.

I gravitated to them right away because I feel they mix the accessibility and melodic heaviness of Linkin Park but with orchestration instead of rapping as their hook. They really make great arrangements for their music IMO.

 

True. It was just a turn off for me amongst all the nu metal bands. I give them credit because they haven’t really changed sound much and still do pretty well.

 

Hilariously, on their fourth album Release The Panic, the one time they did change their sound and remove their orchestration, the backlash was so bad that they released an EP called Recalibrated where they redid like six of the songs with orchestration.

Their fanbase knows what they want from them.

Listened to this group for the first time yesterday and they sound very good and have a clear, thoughtful message. Very SOAD, IMO.

Zonezero is the bomb diggity. They put out an EP a couple years back that I love.

 

I saw them a few months ago, spoke with the singer for like 20 minutes, got a shirt from them too, these guys are so good. I went to see He Is Legend on Tuesday and some guy from one of the openers (For Your Health) was surprised to see someone wearing that shirt, apparently ZoneZero's bassist recorded one of their albums (they are all from Columbus, OH).
