I'm not really sure what you mean, but I get heavy Linkin Park meets System Of A Down vibes from the metal side of the music. If you're talking about what they blend with it, then yeah, but then I think a lot of the best music from this genre is the kind that's not afraid to experiment. There's another band, don't know if they've been mentioned here, but Twelve Foot Ninja is who really comes to mind when I hear this band. They're another case of taking aggressive alternative metal music and blending it with other random genres. It helps keeps things fresh and interesting.
Twelve Foot Ninja aren't too bad. A little too progressive for my taste but Bloodywood are a good mix of Nu Metal, Metalcore and Indian Folk Metal. They have been around for a good bit but this is their first true full length. Very impressive.
thanks for @ing me. I knew this was coming, but didn't realize it had dropped yet. Curious/cautiously excited to check it out.
I think Chris was/maybe still is a great vocalist and the dudes that played on those first few records were pretty good songwriters but it seems like Chris isn't a great guy and has had trouble keeping steady bandmates and is still clinging onto nostalgia at this point. There was controversy surrounding the stealing of other artists' music at one point too.
And if I haven't mentioned it before, he went on a drunken tirade and refused to perform at a show I went to years ago.
the two songs they re-recorded suck compared to the originals. idk why they re-recorded these other than to pad out this record, or maybe they're on some T-Swift shit and trying to reclaim rights to the songs???
I think Rob and Spider touring together is pretty cool and I can't remember if they've done that before. Probably, but it's cool nevertheless. While I'm talking about this, I also want a new Mudvayne album. And for Static-X to finish that second Project Regeneration album.
In the span of two weeks I saw a guy in a Flaw beanie in the wild, and a guy in a hed pe hoodie at a show. Wild atuff
I don't know about bad but it's pretty straightforward and I don't think Ryan's voice is really suited for it. Then again, it's obviously just something done as a tribute, so (shrugs).
Well... it is. But it's like, if they were seriously pushing this for an album cycle, that's one thing, but it's just a spur-of-the-moment cover, so for me it's more like, "That's nice". I dunno, I have my own scale of judgement, I guess.
They're working on a split together. This is from that split. I don't think they did it for relevance, I think they just did it to have fun with a band that they're getting along with.
