I also have not gotten mine or a notification. The record stores near me said they have them down to arrive on June 1st so I’m assuming I’ll get mine around the same time.
I think the UK pressing is different to the US pressing, seeing as the UK pressing has LAB Records labelled on it. The US pressing will most certainly will be labelled with Trans Records instead. Edit: Also to bring back up the 'Knowme' v 'Know Me' discussion from earlier on my copies of the vinyl and cd it is listed as 'Knowme'.
I didn't think they could top Threads and they did. So happy I only listened to the first single they released. MJ floored me.
Threads is pretty fantastic though. I feel a little conflicted in comparing the two because you can tell how different the band is now.
Yeah, I don’t really feel like comparing the two either. They’re very different records, and almost a different band now. Both amazing records for different reasons.
This is how I feel for the most part, however I hear a lot of 'Threads' "DNA" (for lack of better terms) on the new album.
Relationship status: annoying my wife because I keep singing the chorus to "MJ" over and over all day
It's funny, I liked Threads. Good album. Did not understand the messianic hype around it (no hate, always happy when people are passionate about stuff). Heard this. Was blown away. Immediately though "Oh man, their acolytes must be over the MOON about this". And...welp... I feel like it's going to be an Even If It Kills Me/Chase This Light/A City by the Light Divided/Folie a Deux situation where eventually people forget that people were meh on it.
I'm flabbergasted how anyone could ever be meh on A City By the Light Divided also this is good and I like it but I haven't latched onto it emotionally or anything yet
Lol I was p luke warm on A City when it came out. I was just so in love with FC, WATT that A City was just so jarring for my stupid 9th grade brain. Amazing album.
Your penance is that you never got to see them close a set with "Autumn Leaves Revisited" Still one of my top concert moments.
“Window” and “Saved” overwhelm me every time. I mean the whole album does really. AOTY contender for sure.
My first experience listening to this in full has been walking around Auckland, NZ alone and I am fully in love.
The lyrics in the outro of Powder RUIN me. I keep finding new favorites. On my first listen, I would've told you tracks 8-11 were the weak run on the album but now they're my favorites. Lyrics and listening to them out of context of the album helped a lot. Drive and Saved are unbelievable. All of them are, who am I kidding.
I kinda wish the title track wasn’t followed by Knowme, I find the shift in mood a little jarring that’s probably my only complaint about this album, I’ve been listening it to a bunch this weekend
