this is fair! i'm picking up on a remembered vibe that may not be accurate at all

 

i'm pretty sure you showed me beloved like five years ago that song ruled

 

KC kind of has a similar voice to both of them

 

one for the synth pop hall of fame

 

oh the title track just clicked, it's enormous

 

The title track and Holy Water are my faves at the moment.

 

"set it free" is also fucking crazy good

 

I’m from the U.K. Can confirm it isn’t stylised like that for me haha. Nothing is settled! Their official store says P0WDER, though. Which is what I’ll believe, yes. As for Know Me though, their store says Know Me, not Knowme. Same with their setlists. Don’t know why Spotify have it styled that way.

 

That Say Lou Lou LP was great, I thought

 

I loved their EPs and singles but wasn’t huge on the album.

 

Admittedly, I haven’t heard those. Too bad I’ll never get to now since this record is never gonna stop looping

Wow, this album has really blown me away. I liked Threads but this is on another level

 

At this point, Window, Saved, Drive, and Powder have all floored me. Not a weak song on the album, though.

 

Drive reminds me of something that might have been on the tail end of 1989. The “driving home with the windows down” harmony is so perfect

I would say my favorite tracks are: SGL, Can’t Help Myself, Window, Saved, and Set It Free.

My least favorite are MJ and Knowme.

I’m definitely feeling this record now and I’m excited for my vinyl preorder to come in.

this is my first exposure to the band and i'm pretty efficiently blown away

 

This record is incredible

 

I don't know if there's a difference between the npr first listen or Apple Music, or listening to the album a handful of times.
I love this album. I will definitely be playing it throughout the summer and then some. I thought all the songs blended together before, but the songs are quite different and the album is still cohesive.

 

Does anyone want an EP of Jess' old band before she joined (and now left) Now, Now? I played a show with her back in 2008/2009 in Maine before she moved. She always had this great talent. There were only like 13 of us there for the show, but it was awesome.

I can upload it to a Google Drive or something if anyone wants it.
