Commented it on their Insta and Brad replied with a link! Thanks anyway mate! I'm so happy they immediately had the UK/EU stuff sorted. There's been way too many instances of having to order albums/merch for bands from a US site, only for there to be a UK alternative a month later. Might've taken a while for them to put links up, but I appreciate that they catered for the UK. My only gripe is that none of the clothing/pins/patches are available anywhere but the US store, so I just spent 15 dollars shipping on a 7 dollar patch. Worse still, my girlfriend just scolded me for it, as she's American and studying in London in May - she was going to get it me anyway. Ahhhh well. Just happy it's up there for preorder and hasn't leaked yet!
@Jason Tate @slowheart so are there actually any strong Christian or religion-struggling themed lyrics on this thing? The title obviously alludes to that, but now that we have the art it definitely seems that way
I don't have the lyrics in front of me but songs like "Holy Water" and "Saved" could be in that vibe.
I visited their store in Eau Claire when I was visiting for the fest last year - so many amazing prints and sweaters! The misprints they sell are really cool too.
There are absolutely religious references throughout, but from what I gather, imo, they're mostly used as metaphors to emphasise the importance of their loves ones. I believe they're using the term 'saved' as more of a romantic implication, rather than it be entirely religious. The connotations are there for sure, but they're there for juxtaposition (especially in Holy Water) and allegorical reasons (in AZ, maybe) for the most part - there's a lot of lyrics regarding putting a loved one on a pedestal. At least, that's how I interpret it.
Whoops, forgot to @ you in my post! Thank you for your input as well, definitely helps clear those suspicions up
Yeah Ryan nailed it. I think a lot of these songs relate to a loved one. A song like Saved has more of an edge to it than others but I myself wouldn’t interpret any of the lyrics as religious.
I’ve been listening to this band pronoun lately and they remind me a bit of Now Now. This song’s cool:
