I guess the silver lining of his recent death is that he did not have to know that someone was doing this.
A new Linklater film and no one is talking about it? This was fine. Well made but ultimately doesn't feel like it has much of a point beyond being a loving tribute to the greatest director of all time. The most interesting thing to chew on is the nature of knowing just how a film will turn out when it is being made. No one, not even the director, knows the accidents and detours and substitutions that are going to take place. Are you working on the set of the next Citizen Kane or is it more Jaws: The Revenge? We think it should be obvious but it so often is not.
