I really don't get the poduction choices here at all. The difference between this and Tired of Tomorrow (or even Guilty of Everything) is baffling to me.
Theres a new single on spotify that I don't think is supposed to be up yet. I like it waaaaayyy more than Zero Day.
I could only listen to it kind of quitely at work but I agree that its far better than the first single. A lot closer in quality to their last two albums imo.
This record is definitely shifting away from the gaze a bit and more into a noisier, gaze-influenced, wall of sound grunge territory. I dig it more than Tired of Tomorrow on first listen, but Guilty of Everything is still lightyears ahead of it. Like y'all have said, this is a grower but it ain't bad.
kept waiting for the song to climax but it never really went anywhere... haven't felt any of the released tracks yet.
Not sure why Zero Day gets flack on here. I love it. Stoked for this record.....holding off two more weeks.
After a few listens, I dig it. There are definitely some duds on the album, but Blue Line Baby and Hail on Palace Pier are among they best songs they've ever written. I'd put it above Tired of Tomorrow, but below Guilty of Everything IMO.
I've only listened to about half the record on my drive in to work today. I'd put it below their other LPs based on what I've heard but I still dig it so far. I have a feeling it'll be a grower and maybe a better listening experience with headphones.
Hail is definitely a stand out. I'm halfway thru the album and it's definitely on the meh level for me.
