I too laughed a bit at Orlak during the castle scene but in a good way since I really loved how he just bulldozed Thomas after he got his signature and told him to shut up and stay awhile
wow you successfully condescended to someone for thinking a moustache looked dumb lol. didn't even think that was possible and you only had to be slightly disingenuous! great stuff you really Got Me Online
I thought Nosferatu was too jacked, otherwise I liked the design. The original was a bit too cute but this time they got the cuteness just right. There were a ton of very funny moments that the finger licking set the ton for. Hi, I have to go on a business trip. NOOOO YOU MUSTN'T! I HAD A DREAM. The lady doth protest too much, and how many times have I told thee not to tell me about thou stupid dreams. She's having a seizure! Restrain her at once but make it sexy, fetch the corset! Admit it you hate me! Of course I hate you you freak bitch, you're so weird and you've cursed us all! Moustache boyfriend in the carriage after the funeral. I do apologise for my mopiness, I just watched my wife and children get devoured. Ugh would you please keep it down over there. Then on discovering his body. Oh god we're too late! hes already banged his dead wife to death.
I was a bit disappointed when I first heard his next film would be a remake of Nosferatu, partly because I've never been a huge fan of any of the previous versions, but I was still hopeful based on how fantastic his previous three films are. I should never have doubted him. This feels like the story has finally reached it's true potential. I was a huge fan of Lily-Rose Depp in The Idol so I was very excited when she got cast here and her performance is even better than I'd hoped. Truly phenomenal stuff. Nicholas Hoult is always great but he was particularly good here, his terror was infectious and really built up the dread in the first half. I'm already excited to see it again, what an incredible run of films he's on. I can't wait to see what he does next.
I’m just so so happy Eggers finally got hit box office hit, with something that’s uncompromising in his vision and style.
Just got back from seeing this. First Egger’s movie I’ve seen so I can’t compare there but it was a great looking movie. I enjoyed it quite a bit but can also say I’m in the camp of feeling that things were at times unintentionally silly. But that said, it was a fun 2 hours at the theater so no real complaints from me here. Looking forward to checking out Eggers’ other work.
