I loved Furiosa. I saw it deeper into its theatrical run and it wasn’t until after I watched it and looked online that I realized a lot of people clowned on it or considered it much inferior to Miller’s best stuff. I thought it would have gotten the same acclaim as Fury Road.
I’m not sure how I feel about a extended cut of that movie, I felt it could’ve trimmed out like ten-fifteen minutes to make it tighter but I do wanna see what else Eggers filmed for the movie.
Will do!! I haven't read any reviews and avoided spoilers other than checking out the first trailer for it so I am really excited for it!
Oh honey, I’m happy for you but a three hour horror movie is really asking a lot imo. Speaking for myself though.
I like that seat, very back of front is nice because there's not a lot of people and the screen takes up your entire field of vision
Just got home from seeing Nosferatu and yeah Robert Eggers is 4 for 4, what an impressive run so far and the film itself in fucking brilliant and Lily Rose-Depp is the real fucking deal..what an excellent performance from her as well as the rest of the cast!! What a better way to start the new year than going to the cinema and watching the latest Robert Eggers film on the big screen and the screening I attended was busy as well!!
I’m still fucking mad I’m gonna miss on that going on vacation in March, that Universal Monsters area was made for me.
Seeing a sold out 3pm New Year’s Day 35mm showing for this was rad. An absolutely beautiful film to look at - which Eggers exceeds at. No one does it quite like him. I wouldn’t have trusted any other current director to tackle this classic. I’m ultimately at a 3/5 on this. The cold open through Thomas escaping Orlock’s castle was killing it for me. From there on I thought the pacing and sense of dread didn’t match how well the first half nailed it. I felt like the Harding family Ellen was staying with was severely underdeveloped for as much as they were in the film. I found myself not caring that they died, with the exception of the kids because that’ll always be affecting. Skarsgaard, Hoult, Dafoe knocked it out of the park, but I find the Depp love overblown. Her physical work is great but otherwise found her pretty flat.
