He also made it a point early on to exclaim to her that he physically cannot resist her so it tracked
Think the rats were a choice related to the diaries and other source material from the time period. Eggers said in an interview that linking the plague to vampires and vampires to rats came from leading theories from back in the day when people “really believed vampires were real”
I 100% disagree and I think having big boy money let him cook with this movie. Like I still think The Northman is his weakest film because as cool as it was, it was basically indie Viking Hamlet and aside from cool shots, it said nothing worth remembering.
This doesn screen here till Jan 1st but I just watched Tabu so heres my F. W. Murnau rankings 1. Tabu: A Story of the South Seas 2. Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans 3. Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror
My 8:45 AM showing was packed! It was very foggy all weekend so even that early in the morning, the weather was fitting
Only ranking by likelihood of me rewatching, they're all good though: Nosferatu The Northman The Lighthouse The VVitch
Nosferatu is not a slow burn at all. All of the stuff at the village/castle in the first act is arguably the best part of the movie
I think the pacing is great, slow or not, but tell that to everyone I've seen calling the movie boring lol
