I am of the firm belief both things can be true (seriously, Pollyanna still holds up and I shouldn't have to defend that take to anyone ha)
agree with the other guy, both can be true. There are many albums that I can say yeah, that was in a time capsule of my life. But there's others like Northstar that I happily enjoy and like to this day. I still love Hot Rod Circuit's - Sorry About Tomorrow, Nightmare of You's - Self Titled and the Honorary Title's - Scream and Light Up the Sky. It's not just nostalgia.
Pollyanna is an amazing album. That is my go to album when I want to listen to something that "sounds" perfect to me. The engineering, production, and music are just great. Many times I'll listen to an album and think something like, the vocals sound too far back in the mix, or the drums don't sound crisp, etc. but on that album its just exactly how I'd want it.
Picking this up for sure. "Rigged and Ready" is such an iconic song from this era. I will agree with some other folks that Pollyanna is my preferred of the two. The production quality went WAY up. It sounds so dang good.
Had this first pressing in that weird almost cardboard-y sleeve, sold it to help move across country, and then regretted it. This is a very welcome pre-order.
I miss both Nightmare of You's Self titled and their Bang EP are so good. Absolutely gutted we won't get new stuff from them ever again. There's so many great bands that only had a few standout albums and it's not just nostalgia driven. I'm sure he said that as a joke, but I think too many people actually believe things like that. I mean we have a whole thread about it on this very site haha. Northstar, Nightmare of You, Daphne Loves Derby/Wolftron, Ludo, Houston Calls, Rock Kills Kid, Dropping Daylight, Moneen, Sherwood, etc. Tons of great bands that are most just because of nostalgia.
