I just bought that record a month or so ago too. Got the yellow marble variant. Love the artwork.

Learning I don't really like bless the martyr right now

NJ pretty much begins at Redeemer for me.

 

Start at Anti Mother for me and I honestry only like half that record.

 

I'm more of a Josh Scogin guy, so I can't imagine going beyond Bless the Martyr.

 

Is Chris Day in the band anymore? I know he hasn't been playing live with them for the past year or so, but he's still listed on their band members section on fb. I wonder if he wrote on the new album.

 

Not a fan of pre-Redeemer Norma Jean at all. That also happens to be the only album artwork of theirs I like. Meridional artwork is a little interesting, but otherwise I think this band has a really bad collection of album covers

 

I like them all except O'God, which I can't stand.

 

I like O God actually. Redeemer is probably my favourite and still have a soft spot for Bless the Martyr...

 

I only like Bless the Martyr. Sell me your copy someone.

Yup. It is. Had the biggest grin on my face from a minute into track 1 and it didn't leave until it was over

 

Gonna miss the catchiness the last couple of albums had, but I can totally understand the band wanting to take things in a new direction in that regard. This might immediately be my favorite production the band has ever had though, it sounds so good.

 

Completely agree. But there is still that catchiness scattered throughout Polar Similar too. Just enough to make the transition seamless, really.

 

I wish there were more, but Norma Jean has some great b-side/bonus tracks.

Alright well, I think I just had the realization that Wrongdoers is my favorite NJ record

 

@trevorshmevor had the same revelation a few months ago.

 

What does everyone think about Hundred Suns?

 

They're tight. I preordered the record like a year ago and I think I'm gonna go see em in Chicago this week
