intrigued by the remark about the new album. since wrongdoers theyve felt pretty safe to me even if i like all their output
Norma Jean is one of my favorite bands so I’m always excited. Wrongdoers was the last big hit for me, but I thought Polar Similar was a solid follow up. All Hail had some moments but I fell off from it, and Death Rattle didn’t really do much for me. I’m going to revisit both later. I wonder if we will ever get a new Hundred Suns release, as that’s kind of the natural progression from The Anti Mother for that kind of sound I think.
if i'm not mistaken, this band has no original members left but the singer from the second / third record has been back for like 17 years? with the norma jean name, are they allowed to play scogin songs?
Josh has joined them numerous times live to sing Memphis, most recently at Furnace Fest with Scottie and Chris too which was absolutely wild
I mean, in my opinion, Cory IS Norma Jean. He’s been there for eight of nine albums. They say they’re a “collective” to dismiss the constant churn of other band members. It’s probably just ridiculously hard to make a livelihood playing in a chaotic metal band. Yes, they play stuff off Bless all the time. Memphis is an setlist staple and they usually mix in other breakdowns from that album into a medley during their concerts.
The sheer “well, there won’t be another Furnace Fest” (lol) energy of this and Underoath’s “Writing on the Walls” a couple hours later will be some of my favorite moments ever. Tried to find myself in the video and best I can say is… I was definitely somewhere in here by the Aaron Weiss part. I think @Micah511 and I got separated sometime around mediocrity is a killer, haha.
