If I remember correctly (I preordered it at FF with the dude who runs Unoriginal Vinyl) it’s a single sleeve?
Looks just like a single right now. But searching around I am seeing things revolving an album called "Deathrattle Sing for Me" with an August 12th date but I'm not 100% certain on those.
Also just found a purchase link with album art and tracklisting. 1 1994 2 Call For The Blood 3 Spearmint Revolt 4 Memorial Hoard 5 Aria Obscura 6 Any% 7 Parallella 8 WWAVVE 9 A Killing Word 10 Penny Margs 11 el-roi 12 Sleep Explosion 13 Heartache
Almost a reunion of the OG line up during Furnace Fest last week. Also, before Josh, Scottie and Chris got on stage I noticed a 6th member/third guitarist who looked familiar... and it seems like Jeff is playing with them again? He wrote some insane riffs on Wrongdoers, Polar Similar and All Hail. Would be neat if he officially returns
I saw Jeff post on IG recently that he was doing some shows with them. Not sure if it's a full-on return to the band or just a few shows, but I'd be so stoked if he was back in the band.
I also see he's back posting wild riffs he comes up with just like when he was still in the band That's the kind of stuff their latest was missing so I'm crossing fingers
I asked Jeff if he was officially rejoining last year when he first started doing some shows with NJ and he said no - just playing some shows with them for fun (paraphrasing here) so that’s probably still the case ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Would love for him to rejoin though!
Yeah Death Rattle was the first Norma Jean record I’ve properly enjoyed for years. Exactly what I was looking for from them.
There were some really interesting comments in the interview portions about the next album not being a new chapter, but a new book entirely. I can’t imagine NJ completely throwing out their chaotic, heavy side. Their next album is their tenth. It’s going to be interesting!
A curveball like The Anti-Mother would be interesting but I don't see them going as melodic as the rockier songs on that album ever again. Curious to know what they mean.
