Yeah, I feel like t his has clicked with me a lot faster then their last 2 albums. Length is a huge part of that, I think. This is great, manageable album. Really loving it.
I think I might not be a Norma Jean fan at all. I just like O’ God and PS. dw I’m not going to shit up this thread with any negativity I’m still stoked for you who are enjoying it
I don’t think this album is anywhere near as consistent or good as Polar Similar or Wrongdoers. I’m not disappointed, though.
I'm almost done with Translational on my first listen through right now and holy shit, I'm loving this album. Up til this point, Anti Mother was the only hiccup in a discography where every album was better than the last, so I'm gonna hold off a bit on my final verdict since PS was so fucking good. That said. This is a banger, and i too have been head-bobbin' nonstop. When certain folk on this site want to pat TDWP on the back for "maturing" and "growing up" by writing radio-friendly pop-metal, this is the kind of stuff I want to point them at to prove that metalcore doesn't have to be predictable and whiny to be mature. Edit: Just finished it. The beginning and end of this album is perfect. I got a little lost in the middle there, with If Loss Then Leader being a lowlight for me, but I'm not mad at needing a few more listens. Perfect stormy friday vibes.
Hey I was wondering if you were gonna find a place to throw in complaining about TDWP in there, good on you
Damn is that Corey with the sweet/soft vocals on the bridge to Cereen? Sounds like a totally different dude.
Trace Levels of Dystopia is mind numbingly heavy. I knew exactly what was coming with that breakdown, but it didn't keep me from having the most stupid grin on my face the whole time.
I could just listen to Cory scream cheesy phrases. I HOPE YOU BURN I'LL BURN EVERY BRIDGE IN THE WORLD YOU'VE GOT HELL TO PAY BURN BABY BURN YEAH!!!!! Just realized he screams about fire and burning a lot.
Finally getting around to listening to the whole thing and my face feels like it melted off. What a fucking banging record. Cannot wait to blast this loud as hell for a while. Came out at the best time of the year, too.
Absolutely. After a chilly morning, a massive storm moved into town making it nearly dark outside at 11am. Seeing that out my office window while listening to Anna was **chef kiss**
Back when I was in high school, I used to use Audacity to snip together a bunch of my favorite breakdowns. I haven't had a desire to listen to breakdowns since then, but this albums is changing my mind.
