I don’t want to stan for an album with a feature like that, but she really shot herself in the foot with it considering if he weren’t on there I’m sure I’m not the only one that would be calling it one of the year’s best. I’m also disappointed in P4K for just writing it off how they did; Jay being a feature was bad enough, but the content of the verse is even worse. This isn’t like Kodak Black on the Kendrick album (another bad choice), it’s a dude doubling down on his horseshit to the point where you have to assume the artist (noname) either agrees or at least doesn’t disagree.

Honeslty don’t feel like any of the pieces that have come out about this have done very well grappling with the antisemitism and her response and how at odds it is with her entire message and persona

That piece from Craig is shocking and completely disappointing. Saying that the backlash is rooted in her own stances is missing the point. The backlash is because she’s clearly anti-semetic. I’m ready for this album to leave the conversation

 

Yeah, especially because it completely avoids the context that this comes off of the heels of one of the biggest hip-hop stars going full neo-Nazi. Really weird.

 

I don’t feel that way, I think this album is really knotty and brilliant. A militant verse from Jay Elec filled with random junk isn’t enough to throw me off the rest, especially when everything else is so compelling.

Saying she’s not antisemitic and in the same breath saying she‘s not sorry for allowing antisemitism to be spread through her art. Fucking spineless. This is such an incredible letdown man

She told me to unfollow and support other artists... Which is exactly what I plan on doing. It’s a shame but I’m not interested in her shit anymore after this. I can’t say Sundial left much of an impact on me anyway on my first listen.

 

Yea I haven't even been able to get myself to listen to this yet, and a new album from her was one of my most anticipated releases for the last few years. So disappointing.
