Tbh I don’t love the back half of Telefone like a lot of you, the album doesn’t feel fully realized to me. This feels way more mature and developed. I really love how she doubled down on the jazzy sound on this one, though. The drums and guitar are all so cool on this.
To me, Telefone is a perfect album front-to-back. I've replayed it so many times and still find new things to fall in love with. This was also great on first listen though I feel like I need to really engage with the lyrics to fully appreciate it. Plan on giving this another listen later today.
There's a real intentional flow to this album. I feel like the album gets off to a relatively slow start, but picks up real steam song-by-song. Upon first listen, I think my favorite songs are all towards the end of the record.

Hope she announces some more dates. My show sold out on the Telefone tour so I'm still waiting to see her.
Bought tickets for the DC show. Anyone else actually hear D'Angelo in Don't Forget About Me at the end? Did she sample him or is that one of her backup singers doing an incredible impression of him?
I’ve been playing it pretty consistently since it came out and it’s only grown on me. Took a long time for a Telefone vinyl but I hope we get one for this soon
I've listened to this SOOooooOo much. It's weird because I didnt even know about her before this, but this is blowing me away. It's gotten deeply in my head. It might be one of my AOTYs. It feels like a classic to me. It flows so good. The way the album kind of trails off on this emotional instrumental piece....oh my. "With You" gets me every time.
