With all the Eternals stuff, I forgot she also had this one in the works. Funny that its release is so close to Eternals' release; glad the whole Marvel thing didn't stop us from getting another proper Chloé Zhao film. Very excited about Frances McDormand being the lead, too. Sucks that, after dragging my feet on The Rider until it was out of theaters, I doubt I'll be able to see this on the big screen, but hey, that's life.
(Also, someone please edit the thread title to put the "é" in "Chloé" & put a space after both "Zhao," & "4,"... Weirdly annoying to me, lol. )
It is still so weird to me that she's following this and The Rider with a huge Marvel movie. The Eternals could be so fucking good.
Pretty simple little teaser, which confirms what we all knew already: This is gonna be a good looking film. Depending on how things look in my area when/if this hits theaters around me, & what those showings look like... maybe this will be the movie where I finally risk a theater trip?
Also, here's an article I posted in the Eternals thread recently, which talks about this movie, that one, & some of her background: Director Chloe Zhao Arrives With Early Oscar Contender 'Nomadland' and Next Year's 'Eternals': "It's a Bit Surreal" | Hollywood Reporter
Goddamn. I know it’s a weird year but still...so bummed I didn’t know about the NYFF streaming tickets
Whatever platform Hampton is using to stream is garbage. Every time you refresh the page it plays all these unskippable intros... I can cast these intros to my TV, but not the actual film. Tried watching from a friend's house but it's locked to one IP that I purchased the ticket from. I'll have to watch tomorrow and hook up the laptop via HDMI but this is frustrating compared to every other fest I've watched from.
Y’all jerks watching this early via film fest access. I’ll just be happy if I can watch it, one way or another, by the end of the year.
