Reading the full lyrics it's more self deprecating, but these raised an eyebrow... I'm happy for your haircut, I'm glad you got your act clеan You're showin' up like bad news and leavin' like a bad dream I don't need your cosign now, oh, we get along just fine Zach got a haircut and talks about his new sobriety on his most recent album, which includes the song Bad News. More of a stretch in the context of the song, but the chorus caught my attention on a first listen.
The first 2/3 of this is phenomenal, then I agree with Craig that the last chunk feels like a bunch of different ideas for closers, any of which would have been a fine choice. Not sure what I would actually keep if I had to cut it down, but "Headed North" and "Spoiled" are my initial favorites from the post-"Porch Light" section.
I only made it through "Dashboard" on my commute in to work earlier, but the first 9 songs on this were absolutely incredible actually looking forward to my commute home to hear the rest of this, which is not something I would ever think I would say
I’ve had the staying still clip on repeat for a while since he started teasing it a while back. Banger
A Few Of Your Own sounds like it could be on the last record. Not necessarily a bad thing, this record could use a bit more of that sound
excited for more songs, even though I still haven't listened to anything past track 9 yet! haha I feel like I used to kinda understand how albums and releasing them both sorta work, but I definitely do not anymore - 17 songs / hour and twenty minute album in the morning & then a 21-song / hour and forty minute version of the same album with the extra songs sprinkled into the tracklist later on that same day? I don't even understand how that works out to help him / gooses his numbers in the age of streaming... sorta just seems like there was some disagreement between him and some other people (label? record company? producers?) on how long this should be / which songs should make the cut and both sides got their version
Lol really? No one will have digested the regular version enough. Might as well just make the Deluxe the regular version at this point.
Honestly these 4 deluxe songs are grabbing me more than anything except the singles. I basically like all of it but I love the 4 from the deluxe.
If you can get people to listen 2-3 times in 24 hours, they have a much much higher chance of coming back to it in full.
