There's the two Noah songs already released plus I think he's on "Mindy" too? There's two David Ramirez songs ("Someday" is really good), two MLV songs, one by Kelsey Wilson and one by Nathaniel Rateliffe. I don't know who that is singing "Easy Come Easy Go" but he also sings the opener and closer. I'm gonna guess Adrian Quesada? Anyway, I really like the album already but I'm also a MLV fan, a David Ramirez fan, and a Wild Child fan.
Which songs does MLV and David Ramirez sing? Also really digging this album. Adrian’s contributions might be my favourite if you’ve identified those songs right!
With more listens I've realized that it's MLV and Kelsey Wilson singing on "Mindy." He also sings "Heatstroke" and "Friends."
The Glorietta album is really solid; I like the mixtape/comp vibe that comes with soooo many different songwriters. I listened to WHITE NOISE today for the first time in a while and I'm realizing that I've underrated it a lot. I wrote off "Bad Desire" is just a by-the-numbers ballad but it's actually the most human and personal moment on the entire album.
Would highly recommend Ruston Kelly's new album if you miss Ledges-era Noah. Stream Ruston Kelly's Debut Album 'Dying Star'
Thanks for the rec! Will definitely be checking this out tomorrow. Also, I need to spend more time with that Glorietta album. Haven't really gotten a feel for it yet.
This is about as r’n’b as Noah has ever gone, and those fucking 80’s era sounding drums. The man has done it AGAIN
Give me a whole record like this. I could see this & God Don't Talk to Strangers sitting nicely on an album together.
It’s a beautiful piece of music, but I think my favorite part about it is that he’s doing a total about face from WHITE NOISE/Glorietta type music and is exploring some other sounds. I think there’s a lot more he can do to refine the more straightforward rock of WN (and I’d kill for a full YITC album), but at this point in his career it’s cool to hear his voice in such an unexpected context.
It sounds like it could fit on White Noise. Especially the b-sides album. Where do you want him to go?
