“Dry Year”: We recorded this the night of the election. Nate and I sat at the Two Bells and watched it go down. Then we loaded into Studio X and didn’t really leave for three days. Seemed like the only thing to do. The rain is a Seattle morning outside my bedroom window. This bit makes that song hit even harder for me.
im trying to stream it but my data connection sucks at work. guess I'll wait until I'm home. don't want my first listen to include starts and stops every 10 seconds. hopefully a rip will be available by then.
“Send the Rain (To Everyone)”: We set up two iPhones and a computer and recorded the guitar onto their mics. That was the base layer. Death and love. The impetus for everything. I had wondered if this was an iPhone recording, at least partially.
not quite sure that was what i was expecting from the beginning of the sound but then it really picks up and definitely see the yitc comparisons
Heavy Metals is probably the best song I've heard this year. Haven't heard the rest of the album yet.
number one hit a bit different from what i remember but it was acoustic live. feels like a whole different song on the album.
Just as I was about to start 4 hours of overtime work in my home office! Impeccable timing, Noah. Thanks!
Cocaine Sex & Alcohol is strange. Hopefully I come around on that one because at first listen I don't really like it.
