Bad Desire is a perfect song for sure. It transcends any genre label. Even my metal head friends have went crazy for that song. If you don’t like Bad Desire I’ll just assume that you have no soul.
I must need to listen closer to White Noise because I don’t remember a single track off there aside from The Sound Coincidentally the same song by The 1975 is a banger
The interview he does on Sound & Vision is good. Starts around ten minutes in. KEXP's Sound & Vision: Jeff Tweedy, Noah Gundersen, Jay Som, and Black Belt Eagle Scout talk new music; From “Presidents” to Pre-Schoolers on Apple Podcasts
Wow who ever said it was right. This sounds so good on vinyl. Gotta love the 6 shirtless pics it comes with too!
"All My Friends" makes me so happy. Hope he allows himself to be this free and upbeat on other songs in the future.
Noah touches upon not really fitting into any genre in this brief Rolling Stone writeup: Song You Need to Know: Noah Gundersen, ‘Crystal Creek’
Noah already has two side projects with Young In The City and Glorietta, so I can see why he just rolled with White Noise and Lover being under his own name. I do wonder if he stays with the Lover sound for another album. I could see it happening, or a version of it.
Why have I not heard this before? I feel like another Noah Record is coming out (for me personally). Just tried to look it up on bandcamp and didn’t find it. I need to get this.
I wasn't a big fan of White Noise. It seemed like the album was lacking that quality that made me love his music. Lover is an incredible rebound, especially lyrically. Incredible stuff. Many of the tracks resonate really well with me right now. "Older" and "Crystal Creek" mostly. But I really love the albums diversity. It really delivers just about everything you could want.
Saw him tonight (for the 1st time) here in Minneapolis - sooo good. Seemed happy, professional, and sang great
I sometimes forget about those Young in the City EPs, but "Annie" really is one of his best songs. Cool that he's playing it.
I unfortunately can't remember at the moment; I'm still fairly new to his catalog, only really discovering him after his collab with Phoebe came out. Now that I think about it, he did mention "Jesus" a lot in one song, and looking up lyrics it's his "Jesus Jesus" track, so yeah he for sure played that. Can't remember the other one though
Daaaaaaaaaaaamn. I've seen him nearly 10 times and he's never played anything as old as "Jesus, Jesus". Really hope he plays Audrey Hepburn and God Don't Talk in Detroit
