Funny you brought this up, I was thinking about the exact same thing yesterday. A colleague at work asked me if any new releases from last Friday was worth checking out, and I mentioned Noah's album of course. 30 minutes later he texts me "This is really good! Perfect work music where you don't need to pay attention, just great background music " Yeah... I kinda wanted you to pay attention, so we could discuss the songs...
Yep all of these make perfect sense. Bon Iver - Woods "Big surprise, there’s a moment in 'Wild Horses' that pulls pretty heavily on this song. Arguably one of the most influential songwriters of my generation." You're god damn right, Noah.
I cannot stop listening to this album. It gets better every time. I've never listened to Noah before (introduced to him on the phoebe bridgers song colab). I've heard mixed things on his previous record, so I'm not sure how deep i should dig into the rest of his discography.
it's all good. yesterday on tunespeak i won 2 tickets to the buddy holly/roy orbison hologram show, ha.
I had like 5k out of the total 25k entries for the Detroit show and didn't win. That website is pretty awesome though,
The guy’s got several songs before this album that are pretty close to perfect, good places to start include First Defeat, Slow Dancer, Ledges, Halo, Liberator, The Sound He’s got several on this album that are pretty close to perfect too
The last two on White Noise are so incredible. It’s my least favorite of his albums, but the best conclusion of any of his albums.
