This album is really really cool, is Noah considered country? haven't listened to him much

 

He is not. He has folk roots, but has moved away from that on the last few albums.

 

Nah not at all ready.

Family and Ledges are straight up folk.
Carry The Ghost is like indie folk rock.
WHITE NOISE is a little harder to define.

 

Great thanks! I was hearing a twang in his voice but with the music on Lover it’s really hard to define the genre he’s considered.

Was planning on going to see Bon Iver in Columbus on 10/8 and in Rosemont, IL on 10/4 but Noah is in Detroit on the 8th so I sold my Cbus ticket this morning.

The WHITE NOISE full band tour was amazing. Excited to see the full band again.

 

I usually tell people to listen to Heavy Metals because that song is just unbelievably gorgeous.

 

I can see myself coming back to this more often than White Noise, but I miss Ledges/Carry The Ghost era Noah

 

Def my favorite from the last album. Best song of 2017

 

I like it as a climax. Gonna be fun to sing that outro at the show.

Liked this a lot on first listen. I feel like there’s a lull near the end with So What and Little Cup, but not totally sure how I feel yet. Also agree with All My Friends being stylistically jarring

 

Loved that.

 

Fave line in Robin Williams is “Despite all my reservations, I’ve been doin this for years.” You can hear the cheeky little grin.

Well I can confidently say this is the better "Lover" to release today.
