Does anyone have credits for this yet? I’m pretty sure I hear Adrienne Lenker on Audrey Hepburn and Phoebe in a couple different songs
Stayed up and saw that Robin Williams was the first track so I went straight to “Wild Horses” Oh my fucking god this song wooooooooow
I DON'T WANNA GIVE YOU UP. I DON'T WANNA LOSE YOU NOW. He should honestly be playing stadiums with this song.
My lights are off, headphones are on, glass of wine in hand, and past memories are flooding in. This is an experience
This is so much to take in on the first listen, but my thoughts are mostly just: wow. The production and how these songs flow together is wild. Need to pay more attention to the lyrics next time but Watermelon, Audrey Hepburn, Wild Horses and Kamikaze all had lines that stood out/knocked me on my ass.
I listened to Taylor Swift's new one before this one because I wanted to end my evening to this album. I'm a bit stoned and this record is making me emotional.
Oh my.. This is almost everything I wanted it to be. Not a bad song on here, and lots of cool experimentation going on. Love the atmosphere in Older. Can definitely hear all the influences he mentioned a while back. I feel like I've heard Kamikaze before though? Or maybe it just reminds me of some other song of his. The only song I'm a little iffy on is All My Friends. Not that it's a bad song, the 1975 influence is just a little too heavy. I can hear parts of The Sound (the 1975 song, not the Noah one, heh) both in the vocal melody and the music, and that distracts me a little bit.
Yep. This album is great though. Love him experimenting with a different sound/feel. Older is infinitely awesome.
Man I was super tempted to play this at the cafe I work at this morning while it was quiet, but I was worried it might get busy and I'd lose the thread. Home with headphones it is, you've all got me so stoked.
This is incredible. He threw a bunch of ideas at the wall on "White Noise" and while I do love that album, a lot of those ideas didn't quite stick. It sounds like he picked what did stick, worked to perfect those ideas, combined it with the CTG/Ledges sound, and knocked it out of the fucking park.
