Big Direct Hit! vibes - love DH and NT but I'm not sure how I feel about it.

 

really did not expect this pivot to all-out goofy from this band. can't say I'm really a fan of it, but let's see where this era takes us.

I'm glad to see it's not just me. I'm not really into it. Hopefully the rest is closer in line with Adult Braces because that EP fucking RIPS.

Also, I kinda understood the EP to be five songs from the LP. Anyone else?

 

Never heard of them but I just had the thought that Bowling For Soup did this already and no one else ever needs to. Then I checked their old stuff and, well they're pretty tight. Sharing the sentiment here.

Yeah this has been going on for a while. I don’t think anyone is actually buying these either which sucks.

 

I would guess 2-3 songs from the EP are on the LP.

 

Wasn't crazy about "Antifantasy" but "Brainwashed" is fun and "Guillotine" is exactly what I was looking for.

 

tracks 1-3 are going to be on the album, which is a shame because I am really not a fan of them :/

Guillotine and I guess Acceptance Speech are salvageable here, but overall I'm pretty embararssed that this is the direction they're going. Feels like Tom has been watched kids cartoons and decided thats what should influence their sound.

if this was my first time listening to this band I would immediately write them off

 

I'd be lying that I didn't feel brainwashed in my bones when they called out cornerstone.

As much as I find the delivery cringe, this direction can definitely be salvaged.

I think that the Be Honest EP is this band at it's best and this EP just needs to take itself a little more seriously lyrically and on the delivery to be at that level.

 

I totally missed this the first time through hahaha

 

wild that it gets a shout out from a band from Massachusetts, but I guess it was kind of a big thing.

 

My expectations for the album have sunk. Maybe if I were a big NOFX fan, I'd be pumped though. It just feels too cheesy/jokey to me, with the exception of Guillotine and Acceptance Speech.

 

This isn’t necessarily what I want from this band, but I’m having some fun with this EP. Taking me back to that sort of Vandals/NOFX/Guttermouth kind of sound I used to live for as a teenager

 

why are there so many sound effects and literal cartoon noises so high in the mix on this
