I agree. My only criticism of Quantum of Solace is that it’s too short. Skyfall is my favourite of the Craig era. Exactly what I was looking for in a Bond film.
I don't dislike any of the Craig films, and I lovvvve watching Casino Royale/Quantum of Solace back to back. it's perfect.
Just watched Spectre for the first time recently and I was bored to tears. Craig's other three range from good to super dope though.
Quantum of solace works better as, like, the second, flawed half of casino royale than as its own movie.
Recently re-watched Spectre and really liked it, more than I initially did. Still can't even get through a re-watch of Quantum.
I mean it's certainly fun to experience the time capsule that is the series and how it develops, rises, falls, rises again haha.
Umm yes??? Moore is his own special Bond even though so of them are very corny and over the top at points. Dalton’s are enjoyable as well. I also love basically every bond movie so yeah haha.
Casino Royale is still my favorite Daniel Craig Bond, as well as up there with my favorite Bond movies period. So, so well done.
Craig's Bond really made me appreciate Dalton's Bond if that helps. I loved the Moore ones as a kid, but they're mostly cornball city.
I'm in the middle of watching all of these that I'd never seen, which is everything before Brosnan. Having a blast so far. Not going in any particular order. I think I have about 8 left plus the 2 that don't count. The Moore ones are a lot of fun. I think so far Live and Let Die and On Her Majesty's... are my favorite not counting the Craig movies.
I’m jealous of anyone that’s watching all these for the first time. I love the shit out of all of them even the bad ones.
I’m just now hearing about this Danny Boyle news. While I’m definitely as excited as one Boyle fan should be, I’m still taking this all in. The director of Trainspotting & 127 Hours is directing the 25th Bond film, but then again he also directed Sunshine, which is criminally underrated.
Really love Sunshine, 28 Days Later and to some degree -- T1 and T2... but the rest of his filmography is pretty middling to me. Glad Bond is back. Can't say I'm glad Boyle is doing it but it should be interesting.
visually I think Casino is the best looking Bond movie. The opening long-shot in Spectre is also fantastic.
Skyfall has maybe the best looking scenes (the Shanghai stuff is great). But Casino is gorgeous and gets my nod.
Quantum gets the knock for being a product of its time -- AKA Jason Bourne syndrome. But it's really not all shaky cam action but yeah -- just my opinion. I'm a big defender of that movie in general. I've seen all of them dozens of times and it's middle tier Bond for me but I love so many things about it. The original James Bonding podcast goes into some of those elements that don't make me feel as weird about those feelings.
the Matt Mira podcast? love it, they're going to be doing Casino and Quantum back to back soon, really excited. They just did Spy Who Loved Me and I'm stoked because Junkfood Cinema has an episode on that as well so I've got a good day of podcasts.
