The James Bonding on NTTD is out! The description makes it sound like it’s like an initial, immediate discussion before a fuller one a month or two down the road but it’s still almost 90 minutes lol.
Mira - "The plot of this movie, is secondary to the movie; I don't even know what this plot is" hahahahah, yep
Mira - "Like, a missile barrage, sure, that's the only way you're gonna kill that man; like with those abs? C'mon"
"You know what's funny, is when Saffin returns into Madelyn Swan's life, and hands the box over, I really thought the Tamagotchi would be in there; and he's like 'I've been feeding it for yearsss'"
In no order from russia with love goldfinger casino royale goldeneye live and let die skyfall and diamonds are forever are so close to being in
It's been several years since I watched them all, but from what I can remember, in terms of films I enjoyed the most 1. Skyfall 2. The Living Daylights 3. OHMSS 4. Goldeneye 5. No Time To Die I'm going to be moving to Norway fairly soon, and with my Dad being a big Bond fan, I might try to get through all the films with him (maybe skipping over the Roger Moore films) before I move
Ugh, they were a chore to get through the first time; the campiness and forced one-liners are just too much for me.
What was the reason behind the urgency to launch the missiles at the island to destroy the lair? Why did Bond demand it happen then? Was there a countdown of some sort happening? Did Saffon mention a plan to soon ship out the virus, or something?
This was overall good and a great send off for the Craig era. The scenes in Cuba with Ana de Armas are worth the price of admission on their own. it definitely loses steam in the 2nd half and there’s one too many wink at the camera moments, but overall a solid fun addition to Bond. It strikes a good balance of the gritty version of this Bond and some of the goofier elements persistent throughout the franchise.
Three boats were arriving in 15 minutes to pick up Heracles so they had to destroy the island before those boats arrived and the missiles took 9 minutes to arrive.
They needed to destroy the whole facility. Plus that was only the first wave of ships that were set to arrive and take Heracles off the island. They also didn't know who the ships belonged to. For all they knew, destroying those ships and killing the people on board could've caused an even bigger international incident than bombing the island already was.
Watched From Russia with Love last night. There’s an alternate universe where the Bond franchise goes down this smaller, more intimate, LeCarre-esque path, and I wish I could see it.
Casino Royale, Skyfall, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Goldeneye, The Living Daylights, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service are probably the top like 7 movies in the series imo. Not necessarily in that order, although I do think either Casino or Skyfall is the best one.
From Russia With Love is one of the few whose convoluted tangle of a plot actually has some cleverness to it. And Kerim Bey is a great character
