His plan not really making sense doesn’t bother me. There’s a ton of Bond movies where the villain’s plan makes no sense.
there's no way dna works that way but I tried not to think about it haha, I just don't get how shooting a missile at a bioweapon plant wouldn't disperse it and kill everyone
I had a thought: why not one Idris “old man Bond” type situation to bridge the gap between Craig and whoever is next? (I understand with the expectations that people have for the character etc in 2021 it’ll never happen but I do feel like it could work).
Seemed like his plan to disperse Heracles around the world was to sell it on the black market already pre-programmed and let those people use it for him. I thought those ships Q kept mentioning at the end were the first round of buyers.
Really loved this. Definitely deserves to be in the same conversation as Casino Royale and Skyfall. Nowhere near the disaster of Quantum or the “just fine”-ness of Spectre. Great way to close out the Craig era. Also it said after the credits “James Bond will return”, like it always does. They’re not keeping this timeline going lol
I can't picture John Boyega as James Bond, but that's probably just a combination of me having a certain image of what James Bond should be like and having only seen Boyega as Finn. And as The Last Jedi proved, Finn is not James Bond.
And was the aim of Heracles to kill anybody and everybody? Or just certainly people and everybody related to them? Do they have to program it first? Or is that only a side benefit if you want to target specific people? *scratches head*
Easily the most beautiful looking blockbuster since Tenet. Seeing this in IMAX was worth it. I kept thinking "why can't Marvel movies look this good?"
There was a line where Q said something like “there won’t be many people left” or something like that. So it sounded looked like he wasn’t going to kill everyone, just almost everyone. But yeah there wasn’t really a reason given for why he was doing it. It’s not like it was eco-terrorism or something. And given his obsession with plants and nature, that would’ve actually made sense for his character if that was the reason.
Thanosy, but it’s also basically the same plan as Drax in Moonraker and Stromberg in The Spy Who Loved Me
I’ve seen people being like “OMG a virus related plot during Covid WEIRD” and I’m just like, have you ever SEEN a Bond movie before?
So i started my rewatch yesterday and it’s insane how much bonus content is on just the Dr No disc alone, I hope that maintains. Like five featurettes, a 45 minute doc, and a full length commentary.
Yeah I still buy blu-rays all the time, especially since they almost always come with free digital copies anyway these days.
