Can't imagine the insane numbers that Apple and Netflix are thinking of spending to make this happen. I mean it's a drop in the bucket for either of them, so streaming revenue brought in will more than offset whatever they pay to get the rights.
oh yeah absolutely - 2021 will be really interesting because movie theaters aren't going to be safe still and I really wonder how long these studios will hold onto these huge films for another year. stuff like Wonder Woman and Dune will continue to be delayed but I could see Disney moving Black Widow to Disney+ and I could see other movies (for example that Ryan Reynolds film Free Guy) being scooped up by Apple/Amazon/Netflix
The next 2-3 years are going to be so bizarre for movies. I don’t even know what Hollywood will look like when all is said and done.
Yeah it’s a bummer but it’s what the future is trending to home theaters will never be able to replicate the actual theater but it’s getting close
Cowards Honestly, of all the big upcoming blockbusters this was the last one I expected to go to streaming. I feel like there’s just so many brand endorsements/sponsors in Bond movies, there’s probably some contractual shit that demands it open in theaters
Wait. Wasn’t that evident from the trailers? Or did I make just make that assumption...? I know Bond talking with M says “so I met your new 00” but I thought it was more explicit that she assumed the 007 after he retired.
I think it was implied, but they never came out and said it. I want to say all we knew was Bond was retired?
