i’m .... not entirely sure boyega is a good actor. if they’re going against the typical boring british white dude casting, which they should, i want kuluyya
Hardy is too goddamn old, he's already 43. They need to cast someone in their low-30s. PoC would be great too. They've already said they'll never cast a female Bond so I think that's out of the question at least until the current producers of the franchise are no longer in charge.
didn't think Boyega was very good at all in SW - he had a few good moments in TFA (mostly the scenes with Rey), but mostly felt like he was over-acting in the following two movies. though, it could not totally be his fault that he was seemingly written to almost just be, like, comic relief in TLJ and TRoS.
another article that seems very confident in it's reporting; Tom Hardy ‘to replace Daniel Craig as next James Bond’ | The Irish Post
Hardy is too old ffs why are we stuck on casting these people who will only be able to stick around for 1 or 2 movies.
feel like James Bond and Star Wars (especially following TLJ controversy) are two franchises that you can always bet your money on them always making the safest choices. The next Bond will be a white British guy, and the bond after him will be as well, sunrise sunset. It's lame, i agree, but I'd never bet against it.
Honestly I just hope Purvis and Wade are finally replaced with the next one. They’ve written some good (and some awful) scripts. Time for some new blood. Let PWB write the whole thing!
also doing that bit of research just found me this; https://www.thesun.ie/news/5929252/michael-lonsdale-dead-james-bond/
maybe i'm just over-thinking or analyzing the role but, i don't even know if a 'younger actor' is how they would even want to go - I don't think James Bond is a 'young' character, it's always seemed like an older guy's job - like you have to attain 00 status, implying lots of prior job experience? i don't necessarily think they're gonna go throw Timothee Chalamet in the role.
Early 40's is the perfect age to begin playing James Bond Also, just rewatched Casino Royale for the first time in years; sooo good. Quantum of Solace is a turd compared to CR or Skyfall. Also rewatched The Living Daylights last night; Dalton is my 2nd favorite Bond behind Craig
Lazenby was the youngest Bond, at 30 years old. if my quick math is correct, Connery was 31 in Dr. No.
i think theres a pretty big gap between young and physically able to convincingly be in the movie/a spy which, when you’re 43 and they only make these movies once every 3-5 years, your window is pretty close to closed already
