Yeah she's definitely going to be 007 at the beginning of the movie. I'm wondering if they're going to go with some kind of like spy vs. spy plot where he's operating outside of the law to accomplish whatever his goal is and MI6 sends her to hunt him down. They could have sort of like the dynamic between Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford in The Fugitive. Either way, this is super exciting.
Is it still "going rogue" if he's retired but feels compelled to get involved anyway? Like it's not a situation where he's disobeying official orders, he doesn't work for them anymore.
I’m more inclined to believe whatever the problem is, they need him specifically to help and come out of retirement either officially or unofficially, and that he gets partnered or help from 007.
Personally, I like the idea of them being in an adversarial relationship more just because it would be awesome to have Bond go up against an equal who is played by a younger woman of color.
If they ever make a Mission: Impossible where the IMF isn't disavowed and hunted by their own government, that's where I exit the franchise.
Although this sounds good I fear it would end up with the old white man 'winning' in some way. If they find a way where they eventually team up and it's clear that she's actually the better or more efficient agent and he can't do it without her, then go for it.
I don’t think there’s any fear of that, I think the second thing is the direction it would likely go, especially considering Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s involvement
Cool title. Honestly I was bummed about Craig returning just because he’s too old but with the creative team and cast they’ve assembled here I’m really looking forward to how it turns out.
Between The King's Man and No Time To Die, we're getting some real uninspired names for upcoming spy franchise films
