Saw this a few days ago. Bond Talk After Dark Mentions how Eon is (possibly) waiting until after Logan Lucky to make the official announcement on Craig and Bond 25. And if you're into podcasts -- James Bonding is coming back in August as a weekly series. Gonna rule.
I'm hoping for something more on the level of Skyfall than Spectre. Spectre tried to pull too many loose ends together at once and ended up a bit of a mess. Still fun but a mess nonetheless.
I hope Craig is back just so we can finish off what happened in Spectre, unlike some I really enjoyed that film and I want it to have a proper conclusion with a good sending off for Craig. Not entirely sure who I would like to replace him though.
The next Craig movie needs to be a completely standalone storyline that doesn't acknowledge any of the previous Craig movies. Just an enormously fun, cheesy tribute to the Roger Moore era. Really what I'm saying is they should just remake Moonraker.
Give me a film where they acknowledge the switch in Bond. Have someone take on his identity for some reason.
Yeah the worst thing about Skyfall is that they just had to go ahead and kill off that fan theory once and for all. Unless those weren't his parents' real names on the tombstones, like their original stones were replaced with ones that said "Bond" after Craig's character took on the alias. Clunky bit of retconning for sure but they could still do it.
Maybe if they treated Craig's Bond as the original they could get away with it. Introduce the new Bond in the next one with Craig.
I really do think they could still get away with leaving in the others. Just would have to explain the tombstones, which is definitely doable. But I don't think they will.
I'd be fine with anyone being Bond as long as it's not Idris Elba. Not because I think he's unqualified, but because I like when the internet doesn't get its way.
Daniel Craig Is Coming Back as James Bond in 2019 NYT confirms Craig will return. Hope this is way better than Spectre.
I am in full support of another Craig addition to the franchise. Also want to see so much more Naomi Harris.
I feel like I'm in the minority in that I not only thought Spectre was mediocre, I VERY nearly outright hated that movie. The plot was so predictable and even stupid in several moments. Such a wasted opportunity.
That being said if this could be on the level of Casino Royale and Skyfall I'm all for it. Craig deserves to have a 3rd great Bond movie to sign off with.
They should beg Martin Campbell to come back tbh, to me Casino Royale is maybe the best James Bond movie.
There's a rumor floating around that Christopher Nolan could direct this. He's shown interest in the franchise in the past and for a while his production company was listed in the credits for Bond 25 on IMDB. I think it'd be a great fit.
