Spectre suffers because it has an absolutely mesmerizing opening sequence and it never reaches those heights again throughout the rest of the movie. I still think it's a good Bond movie.
I definitely prefer Spectre to Quantum, but I haven't seen Quantum since the first time I saw it. I want to rewatch it sometime soon and see how I feel about it. Spectre has really great music aside of the opening/theme song, which helps.
I really struggle with whether I like Casino Royale or Skyfall more. I think Mads puts CR barely over the top but it's a really close call.
Casino Royale might be my favorite Bond movie. I don't mind QoS. I loved Skyfall when I first saw it, but I've never had a desire to rewatch it. Spectre was forgettable.
yes and no. the script was done overall I believe, but any changes or fine tuning that were made along the way because of whatever issues can happen, could not be handled by any writers. it would be great to know what could have been. but I'm still entertained by it. love some of the sequences, especially the opera scene is top tier Bond moments for me.
Bond films and November go together like PB&J. Love watching these, currently on Goldfinger. Connery is the best James Bond.
my vacation day off work turned into two sick days which resulted in me throwing on Pluto TV's 007 channel and intermittently watching whatever Bond film was on. aside from being sick, it was perfect haha. movies I caught parts of/watched most of were For Your Eyes Only, Live and Let Die, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Goldeneye, Thunderball, and Die Another Day. Definitely will be doing a rewatch again soon, perhaps with some of the James Bonding commentary episodes.
My current ranking of the 14 I’ve seen this month so far: Dr No Thunderball Goldfinger On Her Majesty’s Secret Service You Only Live Twice Diamonds Are Forever Live and Let Die The Spy Who Loved Me For Your Eyes Only From Russia With Love The Man With The Golden Gun Moonraker Octopussy Never Say Never Again
Pretty solid ranking and somewhat similar to mine, except I'd swap Russia and Thunderball. I get so bored with the latter every time I try to watch it haha.
I've spent all of 2019 slowly working my way through the entire franchise (24 Eon movies = 2 movies/month). I just got to Casino Royale and forgot how much it absolutely rips.
