It's never too early to talk about the next James Bond movie. There's more news surfacing about Daniel Craig stepping away from the franchise. Deadline says Craig has signed on to the new Steven Soderbergh movie. With a pretty packed schedule, he's likely out. They also report Jamie Bell met with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli about the role, which is an interesting idea.
So the guy who said he "would rather slash his wrists than play Bond again" is out? Color me surprised.
Craig was 1.5 for 4. Always enjoyed his performances as Bond, but glad he'll be free to do more creative stuff. I'd be cool with Dan Stevens from the Guest, but would love a non-white actor.
Actually think Jamie Bell would be an excellent choice. Idris Elba will always be my first choice, but no way that's going to happen. EDIT: Thinking of Jamie Bell got me thinking about Snowpiercer; so I created a thread.
I'd love to see him back for one or two more installments. Felt he fit the role to a tee. I would love to see another Bond movie made as well as Casino Royale and Skyfall.
After how badly he hated doing the last movie, and how much it showed in the final crap-fest that was SPECTRE, can we please move on...
They need somebody younger. Craig is too old (48), Idris Elba is too old (44). I'm all for race-swapping Bond for the right actor, but they need to find someone in their early 30s for this, especially in terms of keeping them on for sequels.
I'd really love some individual missions too. The digging up of Bond's past has become tiresome with the Craig films.
