No Man's Sky is a space exploration game set in a procedurally-generated universe. It comes out on August 9th, 2016. No Man's Sky
Most anticipated of the year. I hope it does well, this team has earned success. Still don't get how so many people don't get that this is a game about exploration - A simulated universe with billions of planets with so many different ways they could look and who knows how varied the lifeforms out there are or what awaits at the center of the galaxy. My curiosity is hyped to experience this.
I just hope there's enough variety to make all the exploration worth it. I don't want to find a new planet that's just an alternate color to another one I've found
I'm sure there will be several times you discover planets that resemble other ones, but isn't that true of planets in our own galaxy?
Since we're still trying to find life in the galaxy that's at the very least similar to ours, not really.
Preordered it on a whim but not sure I will end up getting it. Really interesting concept but not sure it's my type of game.
I mean just look at our solar system - you could argue that the main difference between mars and the moon is mars has reddish brown dust and rocks and the moon has grey dust and rocks. This is probably true of most solid planets in the universe. Hello Games said they want it to feel stylized but also authentic. So, aside from the fact that there will be no gas giants, that means it seems likely it'll reflect the diversity of planets in our own galaxy and we'll see a small percentage of planets with buildings, trees, and lifeforms. Most will probably be several variations of ice planets, rock planets, desert planets, etc. IMO that's a good thing since it makes finding the planets teeming with life more special, like an event. We've found several exoplanets that could potentially be a home for life though. But not that many, because they are rare. Most solar systems don't have those planets. And until our telescopes can see hundreds, thousands and millions of light years further we'll can't confirm which planets have life...
This game's release will be like Watch Dogs, but worse-- An average (or below average) being marketed as something it isn't. None of the gameplay released looks fun or exciting in my opinion.
I'm not sure still whether to get it on PS4 and play tomorrow, or wait a few more days on the better option for this game on PC (please don't be a shitty port...)
Amazon preorders have always shipped either the day before release or the Sunday night before for me and have never gotten to me late.
