Yep, it was probably this interview I did with Geoff: https://chorus.fm/features/interviews/geoff-rickly-of-no-devotion/ <Laughter> So the last question I have for you is now that No Devotion appear poised to release music on a more frequent basis, what do you anticipate the future looks like for this project? We had this idea when we finished No Oblivion after two weeks, that we’re gonna do a record every year for three years. It’s gonna be like our David Bowie, Berlin period. And then we didn’t release it for two years. <Laughter> Like, okay, maybe that’s not gonna happen. But we’re definitely planning on keeping it more steady.
Geoff had a lot of press on his (very good, btw) novel, would be cool if that could help get some attention to no devotion
Not sure what's going on with No Devotion but Lee talked about Lostprophets for, presumably, the first time in a long while, and it got picked up by music accounts in the past few days. In response, he brought up a new project that includes Stu and may get heavy and screamy too. Geoff does harsh vocals so who knows if it's for LP3 or a yet to be revealed new band. I'm excited regardless. He's hoping to put it out in 2026 according to another reply.
Nevermind, Geoff won't be part of it so it's not going to be No Devotion related. Learning that it's supposed to be closer to Lostprophets sound wise is quite intriguing. Concerning the new project, wonder if it's going to be Sean Smith from The Blackout on the vox.
Remember walking into my office which had BBC News on TV in the kitchen and seeing the story break 12 years ago. Still surreal.
Speaking of, he dropped a snippet of a song from the new project he was working on. Hearing him shred instantly took me back to 2005. He doesn't really get to do soloing stuff with No Devotion, so this feels so him.
Totally! Still very vividly remember coming back from high school, seeing the news on ap.net and feeling gut punched, unable to think about anything else that evening. Was in a catatonic state for days afterwards.
figure todays a good day to jam them again and holy hell i forgot how much i love no oblivion, one of the best of this decade. the whole run from the title track through love songs is some of geoffs best ever
No Oblivion was so underappreciated. Some of Geoff's best work overall. Lee and Stu are amazing as well. Hope we get another album next year, I know they said they had more to release at some point.
Lee is still teasing his Start Something sounding project he wants to put out next year. Would be great if No Devotion manages to release something in 2026 as well.
Going to jam Permanence in the wake of the news. Takes me back to that exact time of the year in 2015 when I'd spin it alongside the then new Fightstar, CHVRCHES, Soilwork, Disclosure, Sevendust, Carly AND Janet albums. Jeez, a great time for music
I would love to hear this project. I used to have Start Something on repeat as a teen in the 00s. Such a shame the music is unlistenable now. Lee is such an underrated guitarist as well.
