Not stoked on that title/cover art (the latter looks DIY and not in a good way lol) or the fact it’s only 8 tracks but I should be stoked that we’re even getting a new record.

I am stoked that it’s coming out in 2 months though!

The cover art and vinyl lay out for Permanence is so choice.. RIP Collect Records (thanks Marty).

New single is fine but I don't think I like it more than anything on permanence on first listen. Sad if it's only 8 tracks total after all this time but maybe there are some 5+ minutes epic on this.

New single is not doing much for me…

I love Permanence so much so I really hope I click with the other 7 tracks.

4 out of 8 songs are over 5 minutes looking at the track times on iTunes.

I’m excited, personally I love this single. Glad they’re finally back.

  7. Many years ago I remember them saying they would build on Grand Central's sound, and I can hear that as it reminds me more of that song than anything else from Permanence. I'm not blown away or anything, but it's an intriguing first taste of what's to come.

According to their IG AMA thing from the other week - this record is supposed to be heavier than Permanence ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m very interested in hearing this despite feeling underwhelmed so far.

  9. Individual track times aren't showing up for me, but it does seem to be a shorter record than Permanence.

yeah the artwork is whack. Haven't had time to listen to the new song yet this morning, but for some reason I'm not expecting much based off the comments s ofar.

Song is awesome and I really like the cover art. Looks like an 80's post-punk cover.

I'm so confused that no one at velocity has fixed that yet. Though maybe they can't?...like maybe there is only a 2 minute edit of the video lol? Did no one watch the video even once?

  24. they played starlings, a sky deep and clear, and repeaters from the new record. they sounded good, loud and slow and doomy. repeaters was a little dreamier. doesn’t seem like this record will have the kind of pop songs that permanence had. geoff called the record “unrelenting.” really good show

This was written back when the band signed to velocity in 2021. Has some details on the album and insights to the songs. I don't think it's on the website anymore.
